SABIAN has introduced the latest addition to the award-winning HHX
cymbal series – HHX X-Celerator Hi-Hats. Available in 13-inch,
14-inch, and 15-inch, these hi-hats are designed by the SABIAN Vault
Team to deliver the hot, and dark, simmering tones of HHX with increased
speed and crisp, highly defined clarity. While the simmering HHX tonality
is generated by the medium-weight top cymbal, the speed and crispness
are created by the heavy bottom and its contoured ‘Air Wave’
design. These contours expel air when the cymbals come together, eliminating
sound-muting airlock to create a combination of tone and projection.

Commented SABIAN cymbal specialist David Williams: “The ‘Air
Wave’ bottom featured on the new HHX X-Celerator Hats eliminates
airlock and produces a sound that is dark but crisp, so it’s much
more effective at projecting its tone than other darker sounding hi-hat
designs. The ‘Air Wave’ bottom also increases the ‘chick’
sound, so while the tone remains hot and simmering, the actual stick
stroke or pedal note is very precise and crisp. It is this clarity and

Like all SABIAN HHX cymbals, HHX X-Celerator Hi-Hats are hand crafted
from SABIAN’s secret process B20 bronze, a combination of 80% copper
with silver and 20% tin. The cymbals are ‘Sonically Matched’
as pairs, and they are quality-protected by the SABIAN Two-Year Warranty.
