The Winter NAMM Trade Show is the yearly event where all the most exciting new product announcements take place. The Arbiter team were there and this year was no exception!

Arturia Origin

ARTURIA proudly announces its first Hardware synthesizer: ORIGIN. Origin is a modular system of a new generation opening innovative avenues in sound design. Loaded with modules extracted from the best synthesizers of all time (Moog Modular, ARP 2600, CS-80, Minimoog and Prophet VS for the time being) Origin lets you combine these modules and benefit from the additional possibilities put onboard. The result: a new type of sound accessible through an extremely intuitive interface.

Origin also lets you open existing templates that can be….well… a Minimoog, a CS-80, a Moog Modular or an ARP 2600. The Multi mode lets you play up to 4 synthesizers at the same time. You can layer them to create amazing sounds, split a keyboard or use Origin as a source for 4 different tracks in your sequencer. Arturia Origin uses two Analog Devices TigerSHARC® DSP processors that actually have more audio power than even the newest multi core PC processors. Origin can be used as stand alone to play live on stage and also as a plug-in with your sequencer in the studio environment.

Arturia Jupiter-8V

ARTURIA announces the Jupiter-8V, the software recreation of Roland’s famous Jupiter-8 which was in production from 1981 to 1984. The Jupiter-8 was a synth that not only inspired a generation of musicians ranging from Prince to Howard Jones, from Depeche Mode to Moby, it was also a unique machine that offered a sharp and crystalline sound while being uniquely phat.

Celemony MSL The Voice Vol 1 and Vol 2

At NAMM 2007 Celemony were proud to introduce two new titles to their outstanding Melodyne Sound Library: 'the voice vol 1' and 'the voice vol 2' DVDs contain hundreds of first-class choral phrases by male and female singers. Thanks to Melodyne technology, the voicing, key, phrasing and tempo of each voice can be edited independently and with complete freedom.

On The Voice Vol 1, the choir sings phrases with lyrics such as "listen to the groove", "keep me movin' on", "liftin' me higher", "party everybody", "you make me wanna dance", "universal love", "feel so high", "when will you stop playing" and many more. In Vol 2, in contrast, you will find non-verbal lines, from the straightforward to the way-out, and from simple "Ah"s, "Oh"s and "Schupdhuah"s to complex vocal lines.

At NAMM 2007, Celemony presented the plugin version of Melodyne: Melodyne Plugin! This significant product launch makes correcting pitch and timing, quantizing audio, restructuring melodies (and more!) easier and better sounding than ever before from within a host sequencer. Melodyne 3.2 Coming Soon!

In their soon-to-be-available Version 3.2, Melodyne studio and Melodyne cre8 offer among other things new playback algorithms. Adjustable formant correction has been added to the algorithm for polyphonic and rhythmic material (studio), whereas Melodyne cre8 has been equipped with a new algorithm for percussive material. The updates will be available free of charge to registered users of Melodyne cre8/studio from the beginning of March onwards.

CME VX Series - VX5 / VX6 / VX7 / VX8

At the winter NAMM Show 2006, CME gave the world a sneak preview of what have become the most hotly anticipated MIDI master controller keyboards ever conceived. This year at the winter NAMM Show 2007, CME proudly presented the finished VX Series - the VX5, VX6, VX7 and VX8. Building on the massive success of the UF Series, the VX Series go much further offering the keyboard player and producer almost every function and feature they could possibly want.

The CME VX Series are the world's first controller keyboards with motorised faders offering unprecedented convenience and control of sequencers/DAWs and virtual instruments. But that's just the start. Infact there are a total of 64 controllers... knobs, trigger pads, a ribbon controller, buttons, a pitch bend wheel, a modulation wheel, sequencer transport controls, pedals, breath controller and and more... and all these controllers are programmable!

Then there is the built in USB Audio and MIDI for convenient connection to a computer, the unique U-CTRL feature for ease of setting up your system, the multi-ethical scales, the 'PadStyle' intelligent MIDI songs and styles with loop variation and chord change, the 'Game' mode for training and educational purposes and the multi-function expansion slot which will serve for adding additional functionaliy to the VX Series in a number of different ways.

CME M-Key - MIDI Controller Keyboard

The CME M-Key is a 49-key MIDI controller keyboard - a simplified version of the U-Key Mobiltone, but retaining all the U-Key spirit. It features ultra-thin full-action semi-weighted keys, joystick control, but loses the LED display, mobile phone sound module, trigger pad, knob controller, U-CTRL and speaker. These modifications turn the M-Key into a pure, straightforward MIDI keyboard.

CME WIDI-XU - Wireless MIDI Interface

StudioLogic presented their VMK Plus Series Master MIDI Controller Keyboards. Five models are available - the VMK-149 Plus, VMK-161 Plus, VMK-161 Plus Organ, VMK-176 Plus and VMK-188 Plus. The VMK-149 Plus features a solid semi-weighted synth-action keyboard whilst the VMK-161/176/188 Plus feature Fatar's improved Graded Hammer-Action Keyboard. The VMK-161 Organ Plus features a 'Waterfall' action keyboard.
