119th AES Convention - New Product Announcements

The 119th AES Covention saw new product announcements from Celemony and Steinberg and no less than nine new products from Native Instruments! The show was held in New York from 7th - 10th October 2005. Details of these new products can be found below...

Nuendo 3.2

Steinberg announced the next version of their Nuendo Media Production System - Nuendo 3.2 - introducing a range of new Control Room features currently unique in software production environments. The full Control Room section provides up to four separate Studio outputs, extra Mix, Headphone and Control Room busses as well as configurable Input Returns and user definable Monitor Setups. Each Nuendo audio, group, FX return and VSTi channel now includes new Studio Sends allowing each signal to be routed to any of the four Studios. The integrated talkback functionality enables engineers and producers to speak directly to musicians, narrators or other performers in any of the studios, automatic dimming and separate Talkback levels are also provided. Nuendo 3.2 will be available as an update from for registered Nuendo 3 customers from the end of 2005.

Celemony were delighted to announce the imminent arrival of Melodyne3, which contains many new functions and improvements. Melodyne3 offers a new algorithm that allows any type of audio material to profit from Melodyne’s unique editing functions and sound quality; in other words, Melodyne is no longer limited to the editing of melodies but can handle homophonic and polyphonic textures. Melodyne3 also offers fully automatic analysis of the audio material, powerful macros for the correction of intonation and timing errors, and numerous improvements in the user interface. Melodyne3 is not only capable of doing far more than its predecessors; it is also faster and easier to use.
