Viking FM have been broadcasting since 1984 and have grown
from strength to strength while picking up awards ranging from
EMAP Performance Creative Team of the Year to Outstanding Creativity
in the Mobius International Advertising Awards. Viking FM's
Creative Producer, Roger Angus (pictured, first right) has been
a long time professional Nuendo user after initially having
heard about Nuendo while also taking a long look at a competitive
DSP-based system. Sam Wetmore of Arbiter Group, the UK distributors
of all Steinberg Professional Products in the UK, paid Roger
a visit to demonstrate a Nuendo system and Roger was immediately
sold on Nuendo's clear user interface and powerful feature set
that would clearly benefit him when it comes to producing quality
product whilst still hitting strict deadlines.
"Professionally, I use Nuendo for radio production; everything
from making commercials to musical idents, from news packages
to station imaging. Outside of work, I use Nuendo to record
my own music." he commented and added.. "I found Nuendo
very easy to get to grips with. I used many DAWs before I started
with Nuendo and I found that it works in a very familiar way.
I dislike software, which works in ideosyncratic ways, and I
found that everything about Nuendo was very intuitive."
When asked about speed of use Roger had this to say.. "I
find Nuendo can keep up with me when I'm working. If I have
an idea I'm able to implement it as quickly as possible. I don't
have to sit around and think of a way to get Nuendo to do what
I want it to do. I'm also very impressed with Nuendo's sound
quality, the variety of plug-ins and VSTi's available and its
impressive range of import and export options."
As far as program stability, which is very important when it
comes to meeting deadlines without downtime, Roger said.. "Aside
from some bugs in early 1.x versions of Nuendo, I've found the
program to be very stable which is a real bonus when I'm working
to strict deadlines or when I have clients in the studio."

Nuendo code has been carefully considered and written to ensure

of Show at this year's awards." A good cause indeed and
the awards speak for themselves for the quality of the results.

station in Hull and has held it's number one position for many
years. The station broadcasts to a potential audience of 1.1
