Sunday, 28th September and
it is just before 8:00 pm at Wembley Arena. Santana hit the
stage. As they open their set with 'Jingo', little did I
know that Santana would endure a 3 hour concert with no
break.

Santana endure a non-stop 3 hour concert - amazing!!
The band blasted dance
energy to a sold-out arena and their hypnotic and infectious
Latin rhythms dominated the evening as they covered recent
hits like 'Maria Maria' and 'Smooth' from their renowned
album 'Supernatural' to classic Santana hits like 'Samba Pa
Ti', 'Black Magic Woman' and 'Oye Como Va'.
Percussionists Karl Perazzo and Raul Rekow injected
continued excitement raising audiences to their feet and
keeping them there to dance the night away. This is the best
arena performance I've been to during 2003 and it really
didn't feel like 3 hours.

Karl and Raul bring their infectious brand of Latin
As I complimented Raul Rekow backstage
on the band's performance he commented "Everynight is different,
no two nights are the same. It keeps the evening spontaneous,
exciting and everyone in the band are kept on their toes".
Tonight is the last night of their U.K./European tour and I
tip my hat to Carlos Santana for a very explosive and high spirited
110% performance from the band and himself - definitely my 5
star recommendation for 2003.
