Barnstorming with 'Little Feat' at the London Astoria...

Little Feat hit the London Astoria to a packed 3000-strong audience as part of their Barnstormin' Tour. The current line-up of the band includes: Paul Barrere (guitar, vocals), Kenny Gradney (bass), Fred Tackett (guitar, trumpet), Bill Payne (keyboards, vocals), Shaun Murphy (vocals, tambourine), Sam Clayton (percussion, vocals) and Richie Hayward (drums, vocals).

Playing their classics, 'Sailin' Shoes', 'Time Loves A Hero', 'Spanish Moon', Dixie Chicken', 'Willin'' to their latest cuts 'A Night On The Town' and 'Why Don't It Look Like The Way It Talk' taken from their latest studio CD offering 'Kickin' It At The Barn', the band blew away this audience and reminded them of Little Feat's distinctive signature groove. The band ended with 'Fatman In The Bath Tub' where Richie unleashes a drum solo filled with a flair which reminds us of the hidden gem in the crown of drummers today.

Richie Hayward's rhythmic recipe stirs in the sensitive feel of rhythm & blues with the good sludge of cajun funk leaving you with a feel-good groove that runs through your whole body making you wanna dance!!!

HHX and AA - a great combination that
powers the band's distinctive signature groove

The combination of HHX and AA in Richie's set-up together with his treatment gels both these cymbal series and blends his overall drum sound. From the stinging bell of the El Sabor Ride, the 'chick' and 'slush' of his projecting AA Flat Hats, the contrasting crashes of the bright El Sabor and dark HHXtreme crashes, the roar of his complimenting AA Chinese and the HHX Chinese and even the high pitch AA Splash projected with distinctive voices.

Shifting into turbo with the sludge of cajun funk

This was certainly a night to remember - they are playing better than ever. A recommended night out - don't miss it!
