In January, 2000, SABIAN and Phil Collins joined forces to
launch a charity initiative. To raise funds SABIAN introduced
Phil's Choice, a limited edition 21" Hand Hammered Raw
Bell Dry Ride cymbal stamped with the signature of Phil Collins.
In Los Angeles recently, Phil Collins and David Via, SABIAN
vice president sales and marketing presented a donation of $35,000
U.S. to the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation. The money,
raised through the sale of the Phil's Choice cymbals will be
used by the charity to improve the quality of life for children
affected by HIV and the AIDS virus.
Accepting the cheque was Tom Ladd, development director for
the Foundation, who commented: "We are thrilled to be receiving
this extraordinary gift. 2001 has been a challenging year for
fundraising. Your gift of $35,000 will help many children with
items such as clothing, medications, mental health care and
permanency planning. This amount will go so very far to help
so many. On behalf of the children we serve, you have our deepest
gratitude."
Added Collins: "As a parent I appreciate how precious a
child is, so I was very happy to join with SABIAN in making
this donation become a reality."
In addition to the cheque, The Children Affected by AIDS Foundation
was presented with six Phil's Choice cymbals - all autographed
by Collins - to be auctioned later in the year.

Concluded Via: "SABIAN was delighted to undertake
this fundraising role. For us to be able to contribute to such
a worthy cause is very humbling. We thank drummers around the
world who supported this initiative by purchasing a Phil's Choice
cymbal. They have joined us in making a difference for these
children and their families. We particularly thank Phil Collins,
who has been most gracious in his involvement with this project.
He is a real gentleman and we are honored to have him associated
with SABIAN."
