SABIAN endorsee, Ryan Dusick flew into the UK
to join fellow members of Maroon 5 at the Shepherds Bush Empire
for a run of their UK/European leg of their world tour. Ryan
is recovering from a shoulder injury and is presently not involved
in their stage performances. As a result the band roped in a
stand-in drummer, fellow SABIAN endorser Matt Flynn, who did
an admirable job through the gig driving the rhythm to their
stage performance which included 'Harder To Breathe', 'This
Love', 'Sunday Morning' from their current album 'Songs About
Jane'.
Matt Flynn's stage set-up was a combination of HH and AA and
his performance especially highlighted a blend of SABIAN crashes
- 18" HH Thin Crash, 18" HH Medium Thin Crash and
18" AAXplosion Crash.
The well deserved encore brought on a surprise, Ryan Dusick
taking centre stage, picking up a guitar and singing the AC/DC
classic 'Highway To Hell' - what a way to end a great gig.
After receiving the award for 'Best New Group' at the recent
World Music 2004 Awards, Maroon 5 are presently sited for 3
nominations at the MTV Europe Music 2004 Awards for 'Best Group',
'Best New Act' and 'Best Song - ('This Love')' being held at
the Tor Di Valle in Rome, Italy - SABIAN wish Ryan Dusick and
Maroon 5 the very best for their award scoops.
Maroon 5 are on a roll, watch out there's more to come, the
band's performance is fresh, vibrant and rockin' - catch them
at a venue near you, you'll be hooked.
