Forrest Robinson - India.Arie

At the Hammersmith Apollo, London...

Strolling into the Hammersmith Apollo at 4:00 pm during India.Arie's soundcheck, I meet Forrest Robinson for the first time. A warm human being, I was made welcome by not only Forrest but the whole band. They were all down to earth and there was a great atmosphere and I was fortunate enough to be able to get on with taking photos without getting in the way of the soundcheck. Forrest says, "Feel free....get on and do your thing - don't mind me."

As I continue to snap more photos, the band break into rehearsals with "Move In The Right Direction" with Forrest playing a djembe.

Bass player Khari and Forrest have been in each others lives for the past 8 or 9 years and form a great rhythm section for India.Arie. I asked Khari what makes Forrest such a great drummer, Khari says "Forrest is one of those drummers that has great experience in playing different types of music and his approach to music is one that he makes through feel and that's what makes him great at what he does."
