Eric Greene - Jill Scott

Live at Brixton Academy

At 20 years old Eric Greene proudly seats himself on the drum throne for R 'n' B diva Jill Scott, who makes a welcome return to the U.K. to play a sold-out Brixton Academy in London. Eric Greene is also a related cousin to fellow SABIAN endorser and drummer Eric Tribett who is currently on tour with British R 'n' B act 'Floetry'. His enthusiasn and confidence combined with his rhythmic talent makes him another drummer to watch out for as he provides those R 'n' B, funk and jazz grooves for this gig.

Jill Scott's four year absence from the U.K. was made very evident as she walks on to an ecstatic welcoming roar from the whole audience - she's been missed. Performing songs from her current CD 'Beautiful Human Words' and her previous studio album 'Who Is Jill Scott?' including her singles ' Love Rain'. 'Gimme' and her current single 'Golden', the rich tones of her voice echoed through London's Brixton Academy grabbing her audience, getting them to join in the chorus lines - she used their energy to ignite her brilliant performance. As the band are individually introduced, Eric Greene is the one left 'til last and with that, explodes with a blinding solo leaving everyone impressed. Jill Scott gave her personality and talent to her U.K. audience - her performance will be long remembered.

Eric Greene's tight combination of cymbal sounds comprise of 14" AAX Fast Hats which were crisp and sharp cutting through pumping low bass lines whilst the tonal projection of his 18" HHX Evolution crashes and 10" HHX splash blended with the lightness of the ballads and the power of his hard hitting R 'n' B rhythms. His 21" HH Raw Bell Dry Ride had a distinctive stick notation whilst his 16" AA Bright Crash had a an explosive impact especially for accenting and the 10" AA Rocktagon served as a great effects with it's quick 'trashy' qualities.

Jill Scott continues her tour in the U.S. - catch Eric Greene and one of the great modern-day R 'n' B divas in performance at a city near you soon.
