After a Winter/Spring tour
of the U.S. and Canada, Barenaked Ladies hit the U.K. once
again and played to a packed Hammersmith Apollo in London on
the U.K. leg of their tour.
Drummer, Tyler Stewart has come a long way from his early
days of busking with a pair of brushes and a suitcase in
Toronto where he met the band.
Caught during soundcheck, it was great to watch him work as
a true team player with the band. His charismatic
personality is unmistakable and noticeably reflects his
persona in the rhythm seat - fun lovingly expressive but at
the same time always playing for the song, a great
discipline to behold.

A great combination of Hand Hammered
and AAX make up Tyler's stage cymbals
Tyler has chosen a
combination of cymbals to compliment different styles
covering a rock feel to a country vibe. In particular, the
Hand Hammered 'Bounce Ride' swings with an even tempered
wash and the Hand Hammered Dark Hats contain an infectious
driving stick response and a great hi-hat 'chick'. His
crashes and splashes have a quick response and his chinese
has a bright raw 'pang' - all working together to give a
well rounded sound for BNL's music.
Barenaked Ladies have a huge army of fans in the U.K. and
tonight they were seats away from a sold-out venue.

Caught during soundcheck - Tyler a true team player
The lights go out, a loud
cheer and it's showtime - they opened up with 'Maybe Katie'
and for the next hour and a half feed them BNL favourites
with humorous stage antics. Their clever comedic
'down-to-earth' songwriting stylistically strikes a chord
with this audience as they proudly sing along to every song
in the set. Uplifted smiles from the band as they pumped out
more tracks, 'Brian Wilson', 'Be My Yoko Ono', 'War On
Drugs' and introduce their current single 'Celebrity' from
their current CD offering 'Everything To Everyone' - real
entertainment!!

Rob Menegoni, drumtech and the band's complimentary
stage percussionist... "Working with Tyler is a
blast.
And playing alongside him adding to the show,
is an added bonus to my tech gig."

On stage Tyler Stewart injects fun with humour and
personality
On stage, Tyler promotes the
attitude to drumming geared towards having the most fun,
injecting his humour and personality and throwing it into
his performance. With his trusted long time Drum Tech, Rob
Menegoni who doubles up as the band's complimentary stage
percussionist, he too adds a quirky humour by appearing on
stage dressed in an army combat suit with 'BNL' written on
his helmet - all part of the fun.

Die hard fans strike a chord with the band at the
Carling Hammersmith Apollo, London
Rob says "Working with Tyler
is a blast. And playing alongside him adding to the show, is
an added bonus to my tech gig."
The band end with the audience jumping to 'Pinch Me' and
singing along to 'If I Had $1,000,000' - BNL left them
satisfied and wanting more - a great show!!
The band join Alanis Morissette on a U.S. tour this summer
and this would be a great opportunity to catch Barenaked
Ladies and Tyler Stewart in concert - you'll have a
ball.
