Each system comes with two transmitter/reciever units, both equipped with traditional MIDI In and Out sockets and a USB port for connection to a computer. This allows for maximum flexibility for configuring a wireless network. By plugging any MIDI device into a WIDI-X8 you can instantly add wireless MIDI (WIDI) capability, and the USB socket provides an easy way to add wireless capability to your computer too - without the need for an additional computer MIDI interface.

Why not plug one transmitter/receiver into your computer and another into any other MIDI synthesizer or sound module for easy MIDI data transmission across your studio? There would be no more need to route lengthy MIDI cables around the studio. Or perhaps remotely control a synth on one side of a live stage with a controller keyboard on the other side? With the transmitter / recievers compact size and battery power option, wireless capability could even be added to a shoulder-strung keyboard for total stage freedom. Why should the guitarist get all the limelight?

Up to 64 radio channels are supported with manual and automatic detection, so the system can be easily scaled by adding additional WIDI-X8 units other WIDI compatible devices, such as the ultra-compact CME WIDI-XU USB MIDI Interface or the CME UF Series V2 controller keyboards.

The CME WIDI-X8 system is USB class compliant for Windows XP, Vista and Mac OS X and is compatible with all leading MIDI music software such as Cubase, Cakewalk, Sonar etc.
