The new CME Matrix K is a high-quality low-noise compact USB Audio Interface for your computer. It is specifically designed for podcasters who want to make professional-level podcasts and musicians who want to add vocal and guitar/bass parts to their multitrack recordings.

The Matrix K connects to your PC (Windows XP) or Macintosh (OS X) computer via a simple USB cable. A mic or guitar can then be connected to the Matrix K and recorded using suitable recording software on your computer such as Steinberg WaveLab Essential (excellent for podcasting!), Sequel or Cubase Studio 4 (software not included).

The combo XLR Mic/Guitar input features switchable 48-volt phantom power allowing connection of professional condenser microphones in addition to dynamic mics. This input will also accept signals from an electric guitar or bass guitar. A stereo input on the CME Matrix K allows recording from a keyboard, digital piano, portable recorder, CD Player, iPod etc.

The balanced stereo line output sockets on the rear panel are for connection to your PC speakers, monitor speakers, or hi-fi system etc, providing crystal-clear playback of recorded podcasts or songs - or indeed, any music or audio on your computer or the internet. A hardware volume control allows convenient adjustment of the volume.

Two headphone sockets and a dedicated headphone level control (to adjust the volume of audio in the headphones) are available. This is ideal for recording situations where both an engineer/producer and a performer need a headphone feed at the same time.

A direct monitor switch allows the post-preamp input signal to be duplicated directly to the output sockets. This flexible routing allows for zero-latency monitoring whilst recording music and also allows the Matrix K to be used as a stand-alone mic preamp or guitar preamp / instrument preamp.
