What is Melodyne?

The unique audio recording software Melodyne offers
a completely novel - and creatively, far more useful - way of accessing
audio data than conventional music sequencing or audio editing applications.
With Melodyne, you can edit the pitch, timing, phrasing and formants
of an audio file independently of one another, with total freedom;
and when you hear the results, youll understand why Melodyne
has won numerous awards for sound quality.

"Melodyne allows me to do things I'd always dreamed of..."
Peter Gabriel

Melodyne is an invaluable aid in the professional recording
studio for ironing out intonation and timing problems, and its unmatched
quality means your recordings will remain natural sounding - unless
you are after a special effect!
But Melodyne also goes much further... as a remix tool
it offers access to undreamed of creative possibilities for the manipulation
of audio. You can literally create brand-new melodies from an existing
recording by simply dragging, shrinking and stretching notes on screen.
You will be amazed at what can so easily be acheived!
Melodyne has lots more applications too. To hear what
Melodyne can do for you, see the Audio /
Video section of this site.
Which Edition?
There are four editions of Melodyne: Melodyne Uno, Melodyne
Plugin, Melodyne Cre8 and Melodyne Studio. Melodyne
Uno allows the analysis and editing of a single audio file containing
monophonic audio. Melodyne
Plugin is a special plugin version for working on a single monophonic
track (mono or stereo) within a VST, AU or RTAS compatible host sequencer.
Melodyne Cre8
has 8-track capability allowing you to simultaneously work on multiple
melodies at a time. It also provides the easy generation of harmony
parts from a single monophonic part and non-destructive editing.

The top-of-the-line Melodyne
Studio significantly allows the manipulation of polyphonic material
- a real breakthrough that opens up yet another world of audio fun only
available with Melodyne. It also offers a virtually unlimited track
count (subject to your computers capabilities), easy generation of harmonies,
non-destructive editing, 32-bit 192kHz file support and more. There
are many more differences between the editions, so please see our Product
